‘Pants’ is quicker to write

I am making a pair of trousers from Simplicity (4760). They have weird outside pockets which join up with the front belt loops. I shall not be adding this as it is not structural. All patterns have a weird sort of old fashioned look to them. A look that uses the word ‘haberdashery’ as if it was a normal thing to say.

Below is the tissue pattern fresh from the ironing board. I kept it on the wall last night because there was no where to store it without folding in more creases. The plan is to transfer all four of the available sizes onto masking paper. I am too poor this month to get thick card, but shall do in future to make reusable solid blocks. Having done that will allow me to cut up and mess about with them to make interesting shapes.

So far I have

1. Washed and shrunk callico for the toile – ironed

2. Ironed the tissue pattern

The next step, due this evening is to cut out the pieces. I may have time to lay the shapes out on the cloth and draw round them.
